Prof. Selçuk Esenbel got her BA from George Washington University, M.S. from Georgetown University and Ph.D from Columbia University. She has been Chair of History Department, Director of Asian Studies Center, Turkish Director of Confucius Institute, and University Administrative Council Member; she is President of Japanese Studies Association in Turkey since 2002. Her latest publications include: Turk-Cin Iliskilerine Turkiye’den Bakislar (Turkish-Chinese Relations: Perspectives from Turkey, 2012), Japan, Turkey, and the World of Islam: The Writings of Selcuk Esenbel (2011), and Japan and the World of Islam: Transnational Nationalism and World Power, 1868-1945 (forthcoming, 2014). She got the High Achivement Award for Senior Scholars from Boğaziçi University in 2005, and the Special Prize for Japanese Studies from Japan Foundation in 2007.

Prof. Arzu Öztürkmen got her BA from Boğaziçi University, MA from Indiana University, and Ph.D from University of Pennsylvania. Her research and teaching focus on oral history, history of performing arts in Turkey, Europe and Turkey: cultural perceptions and exchanges, etc. She is the author of Türkiye’de Folklor ve Milliyetçilik (Folklore and Nationalism in Turkey, 1998), and a lot of articles featured in international academic journals. She has been a Board member of Women’s Library and Information Center and a Council Member of International Oral History Association, and is an editorial board member of International Journal of Middle Eastern History and Journal of Women History. Her two forthcoming publications are: Celebration, Entertainment and Theater in the Ottoman World and Medieval and Early Modern Performance in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Dr. Wenhong Li received his Ph.D from Xiamen University, China, and is Associate Professor of Economics. He has been Director of Economics Department of SILC Business School, Shanghai University from 2007 to 2016. His research areas include public finance, microeconomics and economic history. His papers were published in academic journals such as International Finance Research, Taxation Study and Economics and Finance Research.

Miss Çağatay got her BA and MA from Marmara University, and has been working at Engineering Department and BÜYEM of Boğaziçi University. She joined Confucius Institute in 2009, and has been a coordinator of three student camps to China.

Ms. Guiyuan Yang got her BA and MA from Tianjin Normal University, and then worked as an instructor at the same institution. She joined Department of History at Boğaziçi University as a Chinese language teacher in 2004, and attended the training session at Beijing University of Language and Culture in 2006, with the certificate for teaching Chinese to foreigners from Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban. During 2006-2008, she helped the process of Boğaziçi University’s application for Confucius Institute, and facilitated the cooperation with Shanghai University.
Guang Xu got her BA in Economics from Nankai University, China, and MA in education from The Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. She was certified as Senior Chinese Teacher by International Profession Certification Association (IPA), and had training from CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at University of Technology Sydney. She has been a volunteer of American Councils for International Education in Washington, D.C., and International Volunteer Headquarters with one-month’s work in Uganda.

Ms. Zheng Dan, got her MA from Chinese Department of Nanjing Normal University in June 2010. Then she worked as a Chinese language teacher until now. She got her Certification of National Secondary Qualification of Psychological Consultant in March 2015. Then she joined a public welfare mental health counseling team for 2 years, which is organized by Suzhou City government. In February 2017, she came to Confucius Institute of Boğaziçi University from College of International Exchange of Shanghai University , and work as a Chinese language teacher here.
Chao Gao, MA Candidate of Folklore at Shanghai University, she got her BA in Drama Film & Literature from Zhejiang Normal University. She has been a volunteer in Raleigh China and GreenWay China, and has worked in Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Thailand and other places for volunteer work and photography.
