Xu Buqun Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Successfully Held at CIBU

From october 3, 2012 to october 21,2012, Xu Buqun Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition was held at CIBU.
Chinese Director of CIBU assistant professor Miaofuguang, and Turkish Director professor Selçuk Esenbel attended the opening ceremony. Mr. Xu Buqun did calligraphy at the opening ceremony and donated six calligraphy works to Confucius Institute.

During the following days, Mr. Xu Buqun gave speeches about Chinese calligraphy to students at Boğaziçi University, KOC Univetsity, OKAN University and FATIH University. Starting from the anecdotes of Chinese characters, Mr.Xu Buqun elaberated on the rich meanings of chinese characters and the development of chinese calligraphy. After his speech, he taught students how to write chinese calligraphy hand by hand. At the end of the class, he wrote every students’ name and gave it to them as a gift. Mr. Xu Buqun was warmly welcomed by these students and his works were highly appreciated.

As a part of Chinese Year in Turkey, the exhibition is a medium to display Chinese art and Chinese culture to Turkish people. Besides, it’s a platform for turkish people to know more about China and Chinese culture.
